For the love of blogs - episode 14
Ahoy there me shipmates!!! Sorry your latest blog fix is somewhat late as I am currently sunning myself on a cruise ship in the middle of the North Sea. But seeing as it is a sea day and the holiday is coming to a close, plus there is no sun, I thought I best make an effort to try and get back into work mode and writing one of these masterpieces was all I could muster, so here I am. Apologies if none of what I am about to write makes any sense as that could be due to the several cocktails I have necked in order to give myself some “Dutch Courage” before creating this drivel, but here goes.
So, what’s the latest exciting news from CTS land I hear you cry, well actually quite a lot. It was decided several weeks ago that it would be a good idea to offer First Response Emergency Care Level 4 (FREC4) as a new course to our ever-expanding list. All that was needed was to purchase some more equipment, oh what joy, oh and the tiny weeny matter of having someone to teach and IQA (Internal Quality Assurance) the course and Qualsafe to approve our centre to teach it. So far, we have managed to find someone to teach it (Harry to the rescue), we are half sorted with an IQA and we are currently awaiting Qualsafe to give the final go ahead once we have the IQA sorted. Our first course is due to take place January to March 2026, and this sold out within hours and surprisingly the price stayed the same, none of this dynamic ticket pricing malarky that takes place on a certain other website that we can’t mention, but now I come to think about it why didn’t we do that!!! Due to the high demand we decided to put on another FREC4 course, and I can confirm there are places still available on that course March to April 2026. All these details can be found on our wonderful website which let’s face it you are already on as for some reason you have stumbled onto this snooze worthy piece of journalism!!!
Also, another course has been added to our ever-expanding CPD list and that is Understanding Minor Injuries & Wound Closure. This course delves into how to assess and manage minor wounds, burns and musculoskeletal injuries. It also covers the anatomy and physiology of skin and soft tissue, the stages of wound healing, and factors that affect recovery. The practical section covers cleaning, dressing, and basic wound closure using glue and steri-strips as well as documentation and patient advice. We currently have a couple of places available so if you wish to know more or book a place for this course or for any of our other courses, please feel free to contact us.
We do offer payment plans for any of our courses and this is an in-house service we offer that does not involve a third party or additional costs. It is based upon trust on both sides and many of our customers have used this facility as we do appreciate times are tough for everyone at the moment. Again, please ask for further information as we can tailor payments to suit everyone.
Enough of the serious “business stuff” and onto something different. We have been busy again with medical cover and as part of that we do get to see some great gigs/events. Now these can be anything from the lovely Anastasia (who was great) to more interesting events such as Bongo’s Bingo (words cannot describe what takes place at these other than you have to go to one to understand), Leeds Parade (now that was an “interesting one” for all the wrong reasons) and The Wiggles (down right bizarre unless you are a three year old – that probably explains why I enjoyed it!!!).
Anyway, I think I hear another cocktail calling my name as I think I deserve it after getting through another one of these dire blogs especially as I am still technically on holiday!!! Also, Shaun’s credit card hasn’t been used nowhere near enough so I think a little trip to the duty free might be on the cards later this evening. Having said that I did manage to get him to sign up for another cruise but that’s not for another two years. How many more blogs will I have to write before then???? – answers on a postcard addressed to Who Cares @ CTS, somewhere on the North Sea!!! Now someone pass me the drinks menu as I need to decide between a Strawberry Daiquiri or a Long Beached Iced Tea, darling…...
Until next time
Bon voyage or as we say in Yorkshire Si’thi later
