  • The qualification is suitable for a person who has responsibility in the workplace to undertake fire safety requirements and will provide learners with the knowledge to carry out designated duties as a fire warden/marshal. The qualification will also increase fire safety awareness for all employees covering fire hazards, risk assessment, control of fire in the workplace, and duties of both employers and employees.

  • As with the Level 2 Fire Safety course this qualification is suitable for a person within the workplace that has responsibilities in relation to Fire. It covers all the content of the regulated Level 2 course but in a slightly more condensed way meaning we have structured it to be delivered in 3½ hours. The certification for this course is through Castleford Training Solutions and as there is a theory test involved a certificate of competency will be issued to each learner that attends/passes the training.

    Ideal for the workplace that requires Fire Safety training but does not have a requirement for it to be regulated.

  • The risks arising from manual handling have been recognised by the Health and Safety Executive as evidenced in their regulations and advisory notices promoting good practice. Employers are required to take appropriate steps, including training, to reduce the risk of injury to employees who carry out any manual handling activities at work. The qualification is designed for those who carry out manual handling at work and provides essential information about controls and hazards.

  • If your building has stairs and you provide Evacuation Chairs to be used in the event of an emergency, then you are required to train your staff how to use them safely and proficiently in order to evacuate people as quickly as possible. Using lifts is not allowed in the event of a fire and due to the nature of some other emergencies, the use of a lift may not be the best choice. Our training will provide your employees with the skills necessary to use to the equipment you supply as safely as possible.

    We at CTS recognise that using an evacuation chair in an emergency is very different than in a training setting, before practicing with colleagues we gain their confidence with using a weighted manikin. This builds confidence slowly, ensuring that they are ready should the need arise to use the equipment in an emergency situation.
    Due to the practical nature of the course this is best suited for smaller groups of 6-8, a serviceable/useable evacuation chair must be available for training use on the day.
